Learning to dance in the rain...

So I'd have to say that a part of last week was a little bit of an emotional roller coaster. Which isn't normal for me, usually I am pretty level headed about things. I think I got all caught up in the Valentine's day craziness, and let my brain fall out the back for a little while. You will be glad to know that I am better now. Head on my shoulders, brain where it is supposed to be. Feeling a little foolish but everything is fine. I don't like to put things that are super personal on here, because it is not a private blog and anyone can see it. That being said, I do like speaking my mind and blogging about the things that have been going on and that I have been thinking about. Random fact about me, I rarely cry. Well let me specify, I hardly ever cry when I am sad or upset - I can probably count the number of times on one hand. But on the flip side, when I laugh hard enough my eyes water, or when I yawn.  If that counts. So I can proudly say, that with everything that has been going on, I haven't shed a single tear.

So anyway, last week was pretty crazy, but I got lots done, was able to spend a day helping my friends build their houses in REVIT, and catch up with all of them. I really do enjoy helping people, especially my friends. It's fun to help, and I believe that when you help someone you always gain something in return - whether you gain a friend, or deepen your understanding of something. So don't be stingy - help someone! ;)

Definite highlight of the week was leaving Logan after my class on Friday and heading down to Payson. My cousin told her class that I was coming down for the weekend and they wanted me to come see them. So I may or may not have made it down there in 2 hours. I signed in in the office and then went straight to my cousin's classroom. When I walked in, her 2nd Graders clapped for me, I practically got a standing ovation. I love those kids. If I was going into Elementary Education, 2nd grade would be what I would want to teach. After school, we picked up a chicken alfredo Pizza from Fat Jack's then went back to her place and watched a few episodes of Doctor Who Season 1(2005) and Doctor Who Season 2(2006)... love it!

Saturday we slept in...which was divine then finished watching Cranford(BBC Mini-series based on books by Elizabeth Gaskell. We enjoy watching BBC productions - mainly because they are very well done, also it's fun to see the British actors who have been in other BBC productions like North&South, Wives&Daughters and of course Doctor Who! After lunch and everything I was very proud of us for using her elliptical.. we each ran about 6 miles. I felt soo good afterwards! Then we made sugar cookies and went to the regional YSA activity. I was proud of us for going. It was a kind of dinner date thing - but we each had one date for the appetizer, then we got new dates for dinner, and then another one for dessert. Interesting. I had nice dates but nothing will come of it.

Sunday was great, we went to church, my darling cousin did a great job teaching Sunday School and then after church we Skyped with my Aunt and Uncle, Cousin, Grandparents and my Brother. It was so fun!

Monday was pretty busy. I left Payson after a late breakfast then dropped by Ogden to fill up on gas, chat with my Mom, go out to lunch with my Grandparents and brother, and visit my Aunt and Uncle. Then made it back to Logan in time to go see my friend on her birthday.

I'll be honest, it was super hard to get out of bed this morning. It was nice not to worry about what time to get up in the morning over the weekend! But classes are great, now just need to study for my Marketing test, and finish up my portfolio. Should be grand. :)

Thoughts that have been rolling around my brain lately:

"Forget You" (Originally by Cee Lo Green, but I love there version by Gwyneth Paltrow) I heard it at the basketball game

My friend posted this on her FaceBook Page: "My boy philosophy: 'Consider Me Gone' by Reba McEntire"

That same friend also shared this video:The Women Language Translator Hope that made you smile :)

Never a dull moment...

This week has been pretty crazy - although not necessarily in a bad way. I definitely have some stories to tell.
Monday was a fantastic day - I know right, usually making it through the day is considered an accomplishment on Mondays. I just had a really good day. I was energized from spending the weekend at home, my classes were fantastic and I ran into some friends on campus during the day - also I used the microwave in the Institute to pop some KettleCorn popcorn during my break between classes. *Bliss* I was really productive and got my resume and cover letter all sorted and ready for printing Tuesday morning. I think Tuesday was on one, because it was acting like a Monday.

I got up bright and early Tuesday so I could run to Staples and print out my resume on some nice linen paper that I love. ...well it had snowed overnight and I had lots of ice on my windshield (although it is worth mentioning that Monday night I drove back from the Graphics lab up on campus in the snow... and forgot to turn off my wipers... that was my first mistake) so then when I turned my car on in the morning, my wipers went crazy and I heard a loud noise (that's never a good thing) .. I stepped out of the car and what I found was one of my wipers had come off - and that it was bent. Awesome...as in not really. So anyway thankfully it wasn't snowing so I made it to Staples and printed, but they couldn't do full bleed on the nice paper so I ran back to my apt. parked my car, quickly walked up to campus and got my resume printed full bleed at the copy center and made it to marketing on time.

My classes were great - as usual. Then I went to Pilates... usually we have an easier work out on Tuesdays and then a hard one on Thursdays... but not this week. We did tons of pushups and used the gliders - major ab and arm workout. I was sore before I made it home. Then while making lunch I sliced the side of my finger on a can of peaches. *Sigh* what a day! I survived the rest of the day and Wednesday was much better. Between classes my friend and I went to the new staircase of the Ray B West Building and took some more pictures to choose from for our portfolios. I also took some cool pictures of the concrete and the staircase. I posted it on my design blog: anchaleedesign.blogspot.com.

Wednesday  after class I was productive in REVIT and updated the Frank Lloyd Wright post on my design blog. I didn't go dancing, but I got some ice cream with my roommate and watched another episode of Burn Notice. :)

Thursday was a bit of a relief, since I turned everything in that was due. Took a quick quiz in Marketing.... which of course I forgot to turn off my phone and my Dad called me. Thankfully he only called once... the class got a nice laugh out of my ringtone. in Business Practices in Interior Design we had an Accountant for our guest speaker. Running your own business is pretty intense. I will have to think about it carefully if I want to pursue that in the future. Thankfully Pilates was great. There was much more stretching and less cardio and pushups this time. Choir practice was great. I am excited to sing on Sunday!

Friday. TGIF! Revit was good, we worked on putting in stairs and building a ramp. Not too bad, I think I am getting the hang of it. Religion in Life was delightful. The Sister who spoke was fun and illustrated lessons from her personal life experiences. Some of the things she said were: to think about if we are taking care of ourselves, Good friends make a difference, Hold on to the gospel to make you a better person. Don't have to wait until you are 'good enough' to go to church, go to church and let the gospel lift you up, the Spirit has a comforting power, love grows, and my favorite quote from the talk: "Hold tight to all that is good"

Tonight after spending some quality time in the library, I went to Sub Zero for the first time with a friend of mine. I started with a soy base, then had fudgey chocolate and peanut butter flavors and brownies for my mix in. Liquid nitrogen is pretty sweet stuff. The ice cream was good, had to let it melt a little bit to get a smoother texture but I definitely want to go back! Then I finished off the night by watching Despicable Me at a friends apt. and then updating my blogs. ^_^ Good day!

This weekend should be busy but great! Bridal shower, singing in church and at the Joseph Smith Memorial fireside, I have a valentine gift to deliver, and then one more week and then the 3 -day weekend for President's day! I am stoked!
